‘UncappeD Marketplace’ - Guyana’s Small Businesses Take the Spotlight

At the Providence Stadium last weekend, more than 100 agro-processors gathered for UncappeD Marketplace, turning the venue into a lively hub of innovation, flavor, and entrepreneurial spirit. Hosted by the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA), the event continues to provide a vital platform for small and medium-scale producers to connect with customers, investors, and new markets.

For exhibitors like Antoine Austin, UncappeD is more than a sales opportunity. “It brings agro-processors together,” he shared, “and lets us grow through shared experience.” Others, like Dixie Jordon, credit the event for transforming their businesses. “My brand has grown with every UncappeD. I’ve met investors, gained exposure, and built real momentum,” she said.

British High Commissioner Jane Miller praised the rising product quality and creativity, calling the event “awesome for business.”

Looking ahead, GMSA Vice President Ramsay Ali unveiled a new digital marketplace, developed with Mobile Money Guyana (MMG), allowing consumers to order products online and pay directly through the platform.

The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) also participated, guiding businesses on quality and certification. Together, these efforts reflect a clear message, Guyana’s local producers are not just participating, they’re progressing.
